Stegosaurus Butte

Summit: 2,160ft

2.2m 1,040ft gain

A short and steep climber’s path in the beautiful Middle Fork Snoqualmie River Valley. After a few trips on the Middle Fork trail we found out about the butte and now it’s always a part of our trips to the area. The paved National Forest road 5600 makes access super easy to this hidden gem.

Afternoon hike with my buddy Cole.

It’s hard not to make stops off the road for views like this of the Pulpit:

Russian Butte:

When we finally made it to the trail we made it up quickly. The best view is towards the multi peaked Garfield Mountain!

On the drive out Cole left his jacket at the trailhead so we had to turn back and thankfully we did because we caught the best sunset light on Russian Butte and Little Comrade.

2nd Trip: 1/26/19

Morning hike with Moose on a sunny winter day! We ran to the top for summit snacks and great views. It was especially nice to see some clouds in the valley below us.

Garfield looked cool as ever with some snow barely clinging to the smooth granite.

Moose never enjoys car rides but Big Marge has made his trips way more comfortable.

3rd Trip: 11/30/19

Ellie, Moose and I back for more. It was another sunny day with great views all around. There was a little snow on the ground so Moose was very happy!
